Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church is a liturgical and confessional Lutheran congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). We do not chase after the musical fads and trends of the day, but use the ancient and historic liturgy and the best hymns handed down to us. Neither does our theology follow societally accepted norms, but is founded on the true, never-changing Word of God, as we strive to be the light of the world; a city on a hill that cannot be hidden (cf. Matt. 5:14-16).
The origins of the LCMS in Los Alamos trace back to 1943, the same year Los Alamos was formed, with a formal congregation being founded in 1952. That congregation closed its doors in 1970, but a mission “replant” was started in 1999. In 2008 the mission officially became Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church and the new building was dedicated in 2011.
